Are you a new or expectant mom who wants to nurse her baby? Join our ongoing class series, just $30 for 6 sessions - FREE for women who are eligible for WIC, Medicaid, Food Stamps or similar programs. Join any time - classes are ongoing and topics are repeated in the next set of workshops!

This session of our FREE "Breastfeeding for the Health of It" class meets on 6 Monday mornings from 10:00am-11:30pm OR 5:00-6:30pm.

In this class, you will meet other moms and our staff, and will learn about these topics:

  • Mother's Health (you will receive a free nutrient assessment at the first class in the series!)
  • Breastfeeding: It's the Norm!
  • Changes that occur during pregnancy that get you ready to breastfeed your baby
  • Confronting Barriers: How to breastfeed in public and laws that protect nursing mothers
  • How to pump and store breast milk -- learn how long breast milk can be kept at room temperature, in the refrigerator and in the freezer
  • How to position your baby to get proper latch and prevent sore nipples

When you attend these sessions, you will go home with items such as: baby wipes with convenient portable case, disposable breast pads, medicine dropper, baby's 1st year calendar, fever thermometer and various other items of interest to parents with a new baby.

Please call Tina at (607) 272-2292 to let her know that you plan to attend and if you need transportation or childcare. Light refreshments will be served.
